At La Trappe degustation facility Schaapskooi Koningshoeven I had this fine bock. Dark and malty, great bitters, modest head and carbonation. Not the sweetness that seems more and more trend in bocks. Nice beer in a nice atmosphere. I should rate this location too.

Bottle at La Trappe in SF. Amber-brown color with a beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, raisins and figs. Flavor is loads of caramel malt, estery dark fruits, brown sugar, and a hint of Belgian yeast. Smooth, syrupy, and fairly full on the palate.

tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pours dark amber with an ample head that leaves thick lacing. The aroma is of caramel malt with a touch of dark fruit. It tastes sweet and malty with a little of that fruit coming through. It’s medium bodied and has a slightly bitter, clean finish. It’s a great looking, very tasty bock. Highly recommended.

Dark brown with a large tan head that lasts very well. Somewhat medicinal aroma of licorice and prunes, some bready maltiness. Flavor is fruity and sweet, with notes of nuts, licorice, caramel, wood, some earthiness. Quick finish. Medium bodied. (11.2 oz bottle)

Pours a dark brown with a thick head. Aroma is of cherries, prunes, and some spice. First sip is bitter with some fruit and an unexpected dry finish. More Belgian strong than German bock.

Bottle says "Konings hoeven bock" but the link led me here. Deep, cloudy amber color with a thick and long lasting tan head. Aroma of caramel and bread. Flavor is slightly crisp with hints of apple, caramel and brown sugar with a mildly bitter finish.

Caramel on the nose and a nice deep brown colour. Taste of apples, slight tart of raspberry, spicy herbal seeds, cumin, bitterness, burnt caramel, and even a little bit of tobacco. Finish held out on a bitter note with an added spikiness.
