3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750, corked and baled. Thanks, Terry! Dark brown with bright rubied highlights and slim gray rim of foam. Thick fruity pulpy sweet pitted tree fruit nose. Medium body, fizzy carb. Light and rather generically fruity mid-palate. Light finish. Surprisingly little going on here.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
When rating this I’m assuming that it is the same as Koningshoeven Bock. Courtesy of Skyview. Deep golden amber in pour with a thick foamy dirty white head. Some spices on the nose. Maybe some cinnamon and cloves. A bit of malt and a slight hint of alcohol to the taste. Otherwise it tastes much like it smells with a bit of hops and bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Light cola in color, caramel hues, large foamy light beige head, nice lacing.   Soft bready nose, very slight dark pitted
fruit.   For a Bock it certainly smells as if its on the lighter side.   Pale breadiness on the tongue.   No soy or heavy dark
pitted fruit.   Very light for the style.   It is somewhat of a welcomed change as I wouldn’t think I could drink a 75cl of a heavy
Bock.   Very minor fig and dates on the backside.   Certainly malty, a little mealy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Has
a weird aftertaste, somewhat similar to the aroma of new Tupperware.   Very faint, but its there.   Overall its decent, certainly a
bit lighter than most, but still is somewhat flavorful.   Its also a bit airy... *BURP*.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Umber chestnut color with a huge khaki colored head. Big malt aromas with caramel, buckwheat honey, cookie dough and a mildly odd herb/wood/grain backdrop. A mild shock with the first taste. The aroma suggest lots of sweetness that does not carry through to the quaff. Some malt sweetness and a hint of dark candi, but otherwise quite dry. MIddle has the dry herb and barn wood flavors. Lightly grassy in the finish. Linger is very dry and leaves only a resin bitterness on the tongue. I think this would do well aging, but I’m not sure if I want to.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught: Poured a dark brown with beige color head. The aroma was a fruit with sugar and caramel. The taste was complex with caramel, nuts, and malts, there was zingy fruitness also.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
What is it about De Koningshoeven, I just always feel like they are trying to rip me off. It pours with a medium-strong head and leaves a surface covering lacing. The color of the beer is a very dark chestnut brown. Aroma is an earthy nuttiness, its kind of weird actually. Like a cleaning product thats meant to be nutty instead of lemon or something. Taste is watered down nuts and light pine (not hops). Kind of just seems to be missing a little piece to make it a nice beer (as is the case for most La Trappe beers). Mouthfeel is actually a nice full medium.
750mL, Koningshoeven small goblet glass.

3.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
From a 30 cl bottle.
Aroma: surprisingly not much, little sweet and malty notes, finishing with liitle acidic.
Appearance: Red-gold with high and lasting light brown head. At first clear, at the end a little hazy cause of a small yeast depot in the bottle.
Flavor and Palate: Roasted malt gives a taste of coffee and chocolate. A very nice and long holding malty finish. Fully balanced and bodied with a creamy texture.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Overall, very delicious. I don’t take notes while I drink, so I just go on memory and this is a memorable dunkel. Lots of fruits going on, but finishes with that typical, delicious yeast taste that one would expect. Solid.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
totally forgot to hand in a rating for this one. 750ml bottle. Ruby dark brown with a big head. Fruity aroma, some malts. Lively palate, yeasty with a sweet finish blended with some caramel, cocoa, vanilla and medium bitterness. Not a bock imo, much more like a good belgian strong ale.
