3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Beer Planet, Brussels. Pours a rusty brown hazy body with a creamy off-white top. Aroma is grapes, yeast, dark malts and oats. Nice. Taste is a creamy blend of tarty sour flavors mixed with light oats and caramel hints. Some cherry and wooden notes as well. Nice, but not exactly groundbreaking. Still, a well-made bock bier from a Trappist brewery with an original touch has to be accredited.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer pours a hazy brown color with a tan head. The aroma is brown sugar, yeast and caramel. The flavor is dark fruit (the main fruit I get is raisins) as well as brown sugar, caramel malt, alcohol and yeast. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not bad, but not too similar to a bock. It tastes much more Belgian than German.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A Mes rate. Bottle at the Rake thanks to Carrie.
Murky amber colour with a good beige head. Really pukey malt. FULL of yeast, waaaaaay over the top and sickly. Sweet malt, some caramel and nuts and a rather spicy finish with a lengthy bitterness. Far from entertaining.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
from Drinks of the World - fully cloudy dark copper-red colour with a little beige foam left; nice lace; aroma of apples and caramel with notes of chocolate; medium- to full-bodied, sweet and with a quite harsh palate (use of wheat starch?), a light bitterness and an earthy malty and caramelish finish - unrefined and not much quality out there, deeply forgettable

Bottled 33cl. Nice head retention and lacework. Raisin, crackers, mushroom and banana in the nose. Not a typical bock. Sweet. Hardly any bitterness. Decent.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer pours a deep brown with a thin tan head. The aromas are bread, light cinnamon and and a little alcohol. The palate is slighty dry and syrupy with some spiceness in the end. This was a great beer! Cheers!
