Deep red/mahogany color. Medium carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Malty, fruity nose. Flavor is malty, rich fruit, some caramel. No bitter aftertaste. Decent bock. $11.00 for a 750ml bottle from a Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, ME. La Trappe is not on the label anymore.

Pours a murky copper/brown colour with a normal size head and little carbonation.
Smell is very rich, nuts there and also some spices and raisins, vaguely some fruits.
Taste is also of nuts and spices, also has the fruit there a bit more present.

Pours a dark brown to black with massive white, fluffy head that settles slowly and gracefully laces the glass. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, candy sugar, ripe fruit. Flavor is much of the same with more prominent notes of chocolate, wood, phenol, toffee, and just a hint of coffee bitterness toward finish. Medium to full body with a slight sweet, slightly bitter finish.
