COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

33cl bottle - Dark ruby-brown with a medium sized tan head that quickly recedes to a thin film. Fantastic aroma of malt, toffee, dark fruit, and a hint of spice. Full bodied without being sticky or cloying, very nice. Lovely, complex flavour - malt, caramel, brown sugar, dark dried fruit, toasted nuts - and a warm, lingering finish.

Bottle. BB 10.2015 (Hadn’t noticed that...) Pours dark brown with a bright red glimmer against light; the head is big, creamy, well retaining, leaving strong lace. The aroma is sweet, malty, sourish, bready, roasty. Tastes sweet and roasty, with a sourish berry-like continuation and dry earthy bitter finish. Almost no carbonation, quite silky on the palate. Nice.

Pours a brown head with malty, caramel and candy aromas. Faint hops. Dark brown colored body. Thin in mouth but with present roasted malt taste. Bitter aftertaste. Medium length. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Drank this at the monestary itself combined with the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. The meal was in great harmony and so was the beer. A real must for bock lovers.

Fine beer, but a little soft, alcohol percentage a little too low, may be 8,5% or around would be suitable.

33cl bottle on 28-Dec-2015., poured into a stemmed tulip glass. Reddish brown colour with a frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and hops. Medium body and soft carbonation. Bitterness upfront followed by sweet malt, bread, Belgian yeast and hops. Light spiciness, and not overly sweet. A nice fresh well balanced hoppy Bock.

Bottle from Belgian Beer Factory. Pours slightly murky reddish brown. Nose is malty, sweet, raisins, caramel, spices. Taste is spicy malty, light bitter, dried fruits, dark bread, toffee, finish is bitter rather than sweet. In a way it is unique and complex, still not sure if this works so well though.
