This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2013 Mistig, kastanjebruin bier. Snel verdwijnende schuimkraag. Aroma: chocolade, stroop, gebrande mouten, licht rokerig. Niet te zoet voor een bokbier, licht zurig. Goed gebalanceerd.

08-10-2015, 33cl bottle at home. Appearance is dark amber, cloudy with a nice lasting head. Aroma is fruit, malt. Taste is bitterder than expected from the small, fresh, light sweetness. Body is medium, finish is bitter, slightly astringent. Overall a good beer, although one could argue if this is really a dunkler bock.

Lightly toasty, caramel, honey, herbal aroma. Beautiful red color, frothy white-brown head. Medium sweet, light-medium bitterness. Creamy texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. Good bock - perfect for dinners with meat.

Bottle sample at a tasting Thanks Vova. BBD 10/2011. Clear amber brown with a creamy head. Aroma of dried fruits, candy, prunes, honey, Belgian yeast. Very sweet honey-ish flavors, oxidized and boozy. Medium-bodied.

Bottle sample at Vova’s Hoppy Beerthday tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin, Tel Aviv. Thanks Vova. BBD 10/2011. Deep brown with beige head. Aroma of old port wine, notes of plum and raisin. The flavor feels old, notes of port wine, raisin, dried fruits, medicinal, dry. Flat, medium to full-bodied. Too old.
