Bottle. [thank you, Skortila & Caesar]
Deep dark red with a rather large frothy beige-white head. Aroma is mildly sweet, some raisins and roasted caramel. Creamy mouthfeel with rather lively carbonation. Flavour is wonderful, good chocolate, raisins, sweetness. Slightly roasted and dry finish. Really a wonderful dunkler bock. Incredibly balanced, none of the sweetness of many other dunkel bocks. Wonderful!

Bottle labled Koningshoven Bock. Clear brown with red highlights and a fluffy tan head. Strong Belgian yeast citrus and dark fruit aroma and taste with a tangy bright palate.

Bottle. Pours a great looking dark brown with tan head. Aroma is great, notes of malt, dark fruit, black licorice, brown sugar and spice. Flavor is very much the same, semi sweet as well with a touch of dark roasted grain and a nice burnt grain bitter. Mouth feel is medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, a very enjoyable beer but a bit over priced.

Aroma is complex, with some caramel and a mix of roasted malt notes. The head is beige, foamy and firmly persistent. Dark brown, no bright. On flavor, the roasted malts are dominant. Medium body, some complexity. Good carbonatation, the bitterness is light to medium, well balanced with the beer. Finish is smooth. The beer is fairly well balanced, with some roasted malt aftertaste. Great beer, at the same level (but not the best) as the others from La Trappe.

Mahogony brown, clear body with small head but lots of lacing. Toast, raisin, butterscotch and cheese. Quite a nice aroma, definitely not too sweet. Taste is good as well, light sweet flowing into light bitterness. Very end has a clear dry, cocoa-like feeling. Taste lingers... nice! Carbonation is fine. Maybe not terribly complex but tasty and very well brewed. Was very skeptical of a trappist bok but they earned a good rating. (33cl bottle, 1,75 EUR)

From Bottle into a mug, Dark/haze color with not so much of a foam. HUGE aromas of caramel, alcohol and liqueur. Taste the same, with some dark fruits accompanying the caramel. A very pleasant beer.

Een aangename verrassing! Roodbruin, wat caramelkleurig bier met lichtbruine kraag. Geur is zoet, warm, kruidig en ietwat houtig. Smaak caramel, mout, rood fruit, kruiden. Goede verhouding zoet en bitter en de juiste hoeveelheid koolzuur. Mijn favoriete bokbier tot nu toe.
