This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2016 Huge, light brown with yellowish tint head on top of a dark brown with suble red notes pour. Starts great. Heavy carbonation which is barely noticeable due to the amazing aroma of the hops. Bitterness is amazingly well masked, taste is well balanced, not too strong roasted malt, not too much caramel, just the ideal amount. Dark dried fruits, some hints of smoked plums and toasted bread. Aftertaste is somewhat sweet, yet with subtle bitter notes. Amazing beer!

Tap at Erzbierschof Zürich. It’s quite ironic that 2 days after importing and rating my first Dunkler Bock, there now is one in my usual craft beer bar. Anyway, this one is clearly much better. Floral nose, thick malty taste, dark but not roasty. Fine but well-matched carbonation. Quite sweet, but still not heavy, not your usual heavy bock to warm yourself in winter. Very nice!

Amazing Bock. Very rich taste and aroma. Tasted it from 750ml bottle with cork cap. Very good foam head and head retention. Will drink this beer any time again.

Soupy in appearance and a benign aroma - but what a taste! It takes me back to childhood. Not because I was drinking as an 8 year old, but because it smacks of the jersey caramels my grandmother used to buy as treats. A lovely drop.

Pours brown with beige head. Nose enjoying it a lot. Aroma has a lot of different shades - blackcurrant, cinnamon, a lot of caramel, brown bread, lemon, some tea plants. Taste is following and adding some yeast and toasted bread. Good beer with nice long after!
