thedm (3405), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Mar 21, 2008 This corked and caged bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a extremely large sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent typically carbonated brown colored body. The aroma was malty brown malt sweet and mild hop. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of malt mild hops sweet and mild brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
Russo (434), Campinas, Brazil May 30, 2008 750ML Bottle. Amazing Dark Brown color, the foamy is beige and persistent one! Aroma is complex, some notes of fruits and toffee and roasted malt as well. Flavor is complex too, I could feel some chocolate, roasted malt and a lightly alcohol presence.. Mouthfeel is bitter at right point. I like it a lot!!
Adorei!<P> thewolf (3392), Kolding, Denmark May 21, 2008 Bottle. [thank you, Skortila & Caesar]
Deep dark red with a rather large frothy beige-white head. Aroma is mildly sweet, some raisins and roasted caramel. Creamy mouthfeel with rather lively carbonation. Flavour is wonderful, good chocolate, raisins, sweetness. Slightly roasted and dry finish. Really a wonderful dunkler bock. Incredibly balanced, none of the sweetness of many other dunkel bocks. Wonderful! bu11zeye (3572), Frisco, Texas, USA May 10, 2008 (750ml bottle) Pours a medium brown body with an average-sized beige head. Aroma of mustiness, dates, and raisins. Flavor of dark fruit, lighty toasted bread, caramel, and roasted malt. HenrikSoegaard (2908), Randers, Denmark May 5, 2008 Bottle. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Amber colour. Perfect! Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma, Orange notes. Moderate bitter flavopr. Nice complex fruity notes. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Fantastic dunkel bock. letsbeer (6), Brazil does not count May 2, 2008 Aroma is complex, with some caramel and a mix of roasted malt notes. The head is beige, foamy and firmly persistent. Dark brown, no bright. On flavor, the roasted malts are dominant. Medium body, some complexity. Good carbonatation, the bitterness is light to medium, well balanced with the beer. Finish is smooth. The beer is fairly well balanced, with some roasted malt aftertaste. Great beer, at the same level (but not the best) as the others from La Trappe.
