COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

Pours a rich coppery amber colour with foamy tan head which quickly goes. Aroma is burnt brown sugar and caramel malt, slight grassy hops, dark fruits and slightly doughy yeast. Taste is medium sweet and light-medium bitter, slightly sour too and nicely balanced. Sticky texture which is nicely off set by medium carbonation. Nice beer!

L: -pours a clear ruby-brown with a huge beige head -medium carbonation visible S: grassy, spicy, surprisingly citrussy, plums and raisins T: -Follows the nose plus molasses and licorishwith a roasty finish -quite hoppy F: medium-high carbonation,medium-full body O: This is not a Bock in the traditional sense, heck i dont think its even a lager. Think of this more as a Trappist ale version of a Bock I prefer this over the regfular La trappe dubbel

Appearance: dark amber with ruby highlights and a creamy, light beige head; decent lacing. Aroma: caramel, raisins, light yeasty spice, molasses, burnt sugar. Taste: dark caramel and toffee malts dominate, with a bit of dark fruit and a bit of candied orange peel; there’s some yeasty notes and toasted dark brown bread, maybe a hint of smoke. Finish: slightly sticky, but with enough carbonation to liven the palate just the right amount to complement the sweet and toasty finish. Notes: Quite enjoyable. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club, shared with my dad and my brother-in-law on Memorial Day 2015.

Pours dark maroon with abundant tan head. Aroma is high: caramel, biscuit, butterscotch, vanilla, orange, a hint of strawberry. Creamy, with marked sourness, metallicity and bitterness. Long finish with aftertones of biscuit. Very nice.

Draft at Bierstube. Very dark brown pour with a lasting slim foamy white ring. Sweet burnt caramel toffees. Chocolate liquorice. Wood tannins. Black cherry cordials. Clear candy toys. Glossy mouthfeel. Darkly sweet but not cloying. Feels much more Belgium than German.

33cl bottle at home, shared with a friend. An uncompromising dark bock beer with full body and lovely head on top. It has a smoked aroma on a well balanced sweet bitter caramel mouth. Lightly spiced and raisin, vanilla, dark fruit flavours. Rather strong for a 7 percent alcohol brew.

Robe brune, légèrement ambrée. Mousse bien. Saveurs de malt torréfié, fumé, fruits noirs, houblon et levure. Beaucoup d’esters. Arrière goût café, légèrement vanillé. Texture épaisse, carbonatation fine. Longue en bouche. Une bonne bock.

on tap @ Ei8ht Ball / Bellevue KY --- Clear, very dark brown, beige head cover, full lace curtain. Taste is crisp caramel malt that adds toffee and light spice as it moves through the palate, adding enough mild hops at the end to keep it under control. The back end of the finish brings back toffee and fizz. Simple, and enjoyable.
