Slightly hazy red-broown colour, with a decent sized beige head, a bit of unsettled sediment. Aroma is fruity, caramel malt, yeast. Taste is blanaced, sweet, with a light sour finish of average-long duration. Texture is oily but a little watery, mody is medium, carbonation is average-lively. Good beer.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Reddish brown colour, thick white head. Quite high carbonation. Malty, fruity, yeasty aroma. Smooth malty flavour, fruit cake, pleasant soft mouthfeel, sweetish. Some alcohol warmth in the finish. Good stuff! I have to say back in 1997 I had a purely amazing bottle of this in Tramonto, a Greek beer bar under the Koningshoeven label. That was low carbonation, must have been aged a long time, immensely concentrated fruit flavours, and would have got a way higher score!

750ml bottle, shared with friends over Catan. Dark red / brown clear color. Minimal off-white head. Couple loose dots of lace. Bigger body. Soft, light to moderate carbonation. Nice dark fruit, light spice, light cinnamon in the nose.. Moderate sweet taste, light spice, light savory. Nice example of a belgian dubbel.

Dark brown pour, aromas of malt and yeast with notes of plum. Nice malty mouthfeel, easy to drink, 7% abv and light enough that I could drink a few of these and be happy but flavorful enough for it to still be recognized as a quality trappist brew. Pairs really well with food.

Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany color with a thin tan head, that leaves a nice lacing. Pleasant aroma of dark fruits, sweetness, malts and caramel. Taste is similar to the smell, very balanced mixture of caramel, dark fruits, raisins, malts and yeasts, slight bitter aftertaste, medium body. Great dubbel.
