3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 puboflyons (1111) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - APR 12, 2011
From the corked 500 ml. bottle stamped 10:15-K11010. The pour is a fascinating reddish-purple-brown with a fluffy tan head. It is more red when held to the light. The aromas bring forward yeast, dark fruits like plum or grape, and roasted, smoky malts. A comfortable, medium body feel that holds its texture with little to no breakdown into carbonated bubbles while swishing in the mouth. The flavor is interesting and enticing with its soft beginning and sharper, hoppier ending. Quite nice.

Genuine dark trappist beer with moderate flavor. Smells of nice sweet cherries and big star fruit. Taste is nicely sweet and malty.

330mL bottle, pours dark reddish brown. Aroma of dark fruits and caramel malts, with a dry red wine quality. Flavour is a perfect balance of dry dark fruits, caramel and vinous characteristics. Fantastic dubbel.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy red/brown. Aroma of malt, caramelised brown sugar and plums. Flavour includes the aforementioned plus dry red wine and raisins. Clean finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Nice brownish, muddy red coloured body with a thin tan head that fades fast. Aroma of malt, light nuts and a touch of spices and a very mild sweetness. Medium-bodied; Deep malty and yeastie flavours throughout with some light raisin sweetness, but more of a yeast and wheat overtone. Aftertaste shows a little alcohol and a bit more sweetness from pit fruits and raisins. Overall, a nice mild dubbel with some light sweetness and perhaps more malt than others - still mild though. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from AH Supermarket in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for €1,10 on the streets of Amsterdam on 02-January-2011.

11.2oz bottle poured into my Gouden glass...A medium brown, amber in the light. a boring tan head of only about a finger, falls quickly, bad lacing...A really light aroma, plums, sugar and alcohol, not complex enough for me...The taste is really boring, a watered down cherry coke, dark fruits, and alcohol...An amazingly light feel.
This is just lacking all respects.

dark brown pour, light beige head. aroma of minerals, bready, yeast, dark ripe fruit. flavor was quite bready, and had a large mineral flavor also. this was still quite fruity, and really was like liquid bread. nice stuff.

Aroma fruttato (pruga, frutti di bosco), complessa al palato ma equilibrata e morbida. Ottima.
