Bottle- pours brown with a big beige head. Lots of sweet malt, caramel and burnt sugar, also a malty wort smell. Sweet, sweet malt on the taste, the sweetness lasts for quite a while before the bitter hop finish hits. Good carbonation and nice mouthfeel.

Loved this beer, I had a Quad from La Trappe in Amsterdam tried to get this beer in America was hard to find. I finally found a beermart that would get this beer here in America and I ordered a case and found it to be a wonderful beer too, but love the Quad more. This has a strong flavor and alcohol content, but more citrus flavor I found.

Pours dark red brown. Head quickly disappears. Very nice, sweet aroma. Taste of bananas. Fine carbo. Easily drinkable and very enjoyable. At least on par with Westmalle dubbel.

Aroma sweet yeast and malt, even some banana somewhere. Dark reddish brown colour with a large beige head that does not stay too long. Taste of caramel, burnt sugar and plum/dried fruit. Awesome thick mouthfeel. One of my favorite trappists.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Pours a clear brownish red with a light brown head. Nose is dried fruit, cherry, banana, and light marshmallow. The taste is sweet with dried dark fruit, amaretto, Twizzlers (yup), brown sugar, light molasses, black tea, a light mint nite, and spice. Itís good, but itís a little too sweet for my tastes. Worth trying, but maybe only once.
