Aroma is plums & raisins, roast malt, and spice. Taste is similar, with the addition of caramel and black coffee. Alcohol is well hidden, and the beer is nicely carbonated. Smooth and full. A good one. kapusta (84), Dover, Delaware, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Dark browish/red with a tan head. This smells excellent, like ripe dried fruits (dates, cherries & raisins). The tast on the otherhand is quote dry and I noticed hints of tobacco. This was yesty spicey and malty, with a roasted aftertaste. I sampled this in a 750ml, Koningshoeven bottle. gottalottaibu (243), charlotte, North Carolina, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 2, 2007 330 ml bottle. Copper colour with a red hue. Crystal clear. Throws a really tall off-white creamy head that clings to the glass. There is obviously a lot of carbonation. Crispy dry yeast aroma, which indicates that the beer has a fairly low final gravity. Belgian malt character. Dry and not really much body, except that there is a little sugary malt flavours left. Syrupy aftertaste. Hops are there but they are very subdued. Could have used a little more body. sinkas (182), Perth/Fremantle, Australia

Deep brown with ruby highlights, veracious carbonation and tan head. Aromas of thick sweet dark malts, with some dark stewed or dried plum and stewed rhubarb? Falvours are intense sweet light malts, with a hint of roastiness/hop bitterness midpalate. Pretty damn good really. estoves2 (98), Sweden
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Dark ruby red body, with a thin layer of creamy tan foam. The foam lasts the entire beer even though it gets little thinner.
Aroma is mostly of fruity, plum not much more but nice.
Flavor of fruit plum and som woody notes. Not really an hopprecens but nice anyway
Palate is very warming and thin but creamy. mgermani (863), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Pours an amber-brown with a small ring of foam and minimal lace. Very metallic aroma, sweet with no detectable hops. Tastes very watery and sweet, with a hint of light cherry soda pop. Some sweet teryaki, definitely munich malt in there, and a warm fruity finish. Very thin body with low carbonation (tiny fizziness). This is weak, watery, and not at all like the Quadroupel that I enjoyed from La Trappe. Disappointing! mpeve (28), Bolwarra, Australia
