750ml Koningshoeven Dubbel bottle @ Hamilton’s shared with my pal Josh in from San Fran. Pours dark ruddy brown with a 1 finger tan head. Candy sugar aroma, slightly sweet. Taste is sweet and malty with a slightly cloying candy sugar taste. Pretty good, not so hot overall, has some kind of taste that really doesn’t fit me all that well, but got better as it warmed as most belgians tend to.

bottle - Pours amber with a thin, lingering head. It has a dark fruit aroma. I’m picking up grapes and possibly some plums. The flavor is really fruity with yeast and malt dominating. It’s medium bodied and has a smooth finish. I really liked this one.

Bottle: Ruby mahogany color, light head and lacing. Nose of metal, starchy sweet malts and a yeasty doughy essence. The flavor is nice and malty, much more turbinado/jaggery esque int he flavor than in the nose. The finish is plenty chewy, but is still stale and imported tasting. A bit oxidized.

Stiff frothy head. Coffee-brown color. Slightly fruity, the carachteristic stale belgian flavor, but not too overwhelming. Quite drinkable.

330ml bottle. Light, but rich red colour. Steady creamy head. Sharp and sour aroma - no distinct details. Fizzes on the tongue, slight bitter taste then a huge sweet fruity malt washes over the tongue and leaves a very long finish. Some almonds.

Dark brown with nice tan head. Yeasty, fruity aroma. Nice fruity taste. I think it’s better than most give it credit for.....
