4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 freek (3) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 19, 2009 does not count
Unique tasting Trappist, the only of it’s kind of Dutch origin. The smoothest and sweetest of all Trappists, yet still packing enough character and dubbel ’oomph’. My favourite, most of the time... Change with a regular pils or a Westmalle Dubbel in between to keep your palate appreciating it’s sweet strength ;)
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rodders (137) - Norwich, Norfolk, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2009
(Bottle from Morrisons, Diss) Poured dark red with ltitle head. Aroma of sweet malt and red fruits. Taste of more caramel malt with red fruit, cherries and toast. Hint of vanilla and flowery hops. Clean tasting with a strong fruit backing, great and tasty but not the best of trappist beers I’ve had.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 floydian1 (481) - FNQ, AUSTRALIA - FEB 14, 2009
33cl bottle into Trappist glass. A dark brown ale with a moderate beige head. Aromas of caramel malts with a hint of fresh cherries. Tastes fruity and malty with quite a sweet finish. Medium bodied with a smooth drinkability. Lacks the complexity of flavours I associate with other Trappist beers.

Bottle: A bit unclear, rather quickly vanishing off-white head, ruby-amber coloured; caramelly and toasty nose with a fruity background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied. a distinctive fruity touch and traces of cacao in the drier bitter-sweet finish. Pleasant..........

Cloudy brown hue, with a tan-colored head, yeasty, fruity, raisiny, plummy nose, with a sweet chocolatey, winey, faint accent, with a hint of candi sugar, molasses, and some toasted, caramelized malt aromas follow though on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet toasty, caramel malt, fruity, chocolatey character, with some cookie dough, plummy, figgy, raisiny, datey flavors, with some toffeeish, caramel, molasses accents, leading towards a malty, fruity, raisiny, plummy, mild chocolatey finish.

Dark, mahogany red brown, a finger of smooth creamy tan head, plums and cherries. Sweet but simple malt aroma, some dark candi sugar. Taste is big bold prunes, sweet beet sugar, a light bittering and alcohol finish. Straightforward but good.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 William (202) - Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JAN 25, 2009
Lacks hop, but not a bad dubbel. I thought they had lost their Trappist rating! I don’t believe they can still call their beers Trappist beer.
