Uit de fles in een cafe. Donker, aangenaam zoetig met een volle smaak. De schuimkraag was snel verdwenen. Moet thuis nog een keer op herhaling voor een dieptetest ; )

Picked up a crock at the local off licence and it is pretty stunning to look at. La Trappe pours a deep red, almost burgundy with a strong aroma of spice and fruit. You get a pretty decent head, 2 cm approx, on the initial pour but dissipates. The smooth mouthfeel reminds me of Christmas with the different combination of fruit and spice. Very tasty indeed

Deep malty flavor and burned caramel is what i get on the taste. Nice aroma too..... Very good beer....

Geur lijkt op te lang liggende mandarijntjes; smaak in de eerste tellen bevestig dit, maar blijft lang hangen en verfijnt na verloop van tijd. Mooie schuimkraag, licht gekleurd, nodigt uit om te drinken.

Bottle, 2 years old. Mahogany with a tan head. Malt, yeast, caramelized sugar, plum, brown sugar. Somewhat sweet, medium carbonation and body, caramel, nice long finish with a nice complexity.

Dark red, brown head. Strong aroma, dark fruit, faint alcohol. Very fruity, dry, slightly sour, roasted malt, hoppy aftertaste. Medium thick, decent carbonation. Little one dimensional.

Ruby red beer with a small tan head. The aroma is malty sweet and fruity with notes of plum, caramel, apricot, brown sugar and yeast. The taste is sweet, spicy, fruity and complex, with almost no bitterness. Soft and creamy mouth feel, long fruity and slightly bitter finish with roasty notes a la tobacco.Still, to much malty sweetness for my palate.
