Outstanding beer. On tap at Monk’s Table. Big thick head with great malt backing, and a fruity middle. Almost peach-like. Loved this.

Fles 30 cl. Kleur: Rood/bruin. Weinig koolzuur.

Pours a dark amber with a tan head that fades quickly. The aroma is very fruity with a bit of sweet malt as well. The flavor is also fruity, but well balanced. A hint of pepper and a nice bitterness. The finish is crisp, nice after taste. Light and tasty.

750 ml. Pours dark brown, maybe a slight tinge of orange. I like the aroma a lot. Soft carbonation. The taste has some plums and figs and caramel, but it all seems a bit muted for a Trappist doobel. It kind of coats the tongue as well.

33 cl bottle, Rotterdam, Netherlands. Slightly hazy deep amber-brown. Bright aroma, minty hops and a caramel base. Sweet, then an immediate pepper bite that transitions to a long almost cloying finish.

Bottle from Provenance. Delicious caramel and conspicuous alcohol. Belgian spice flavour. High grade stuff.

33cl Bottle. Pours white head which diminished within a matter of seconds, virtually no lacing. Colour is of a deep red. Aroma of caramel dark fruits and alcohol. Starts sweet with honey and alcohol on the finish slightly metallic. Unfortunately a bit disappointing.

Bottle from Csakajosor.hu. Poured deep ruby, with a massive beige foam. Red grapes, yeast, raspberry, woodcask in the nose. Plum, dark chocolate, bubblegum, caramel, in the aroma. Sweet taste in a dense, oily body. Dark fruity, sweet aftertaste with hints of basil. Somewhat bitter, dry finish. I LIKE!
