"Discover this genuine dark Trappist beer with a gentle flavour, creamy head and pronounced bouquet.
La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it.

33oml bottle, poured into Leffe chalice. Amber to auburn in colour, looked pale for a Dubbel, opaque, 1 finger ginger tanned head, lots of lacing retained. Aroma was dark chocolate, cranberry and molasses. Tasted dark chocolate, cranberry, malt and molasses, slightly boozy, decent complexity. Body on the thick side, decent carbonation, smooth. Overall it reminded me of a German Doppelbock, nice colder weather beer.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy chestnut body with a thin beige head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raisins, brown sugar, cherry, red apple and toffee. Flavour of candy, stewed apple, earth and flat Coca-Cola. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Very fizzy. Sweet yet refreshing.

0.3 l bottle, bottled in September 2015. Clear, deep red with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, prunes, apple syrup, almond and some alcohol. Sweet, malty and slightly fruity taste of caramel, apple syrup, almond, raisins, prunes and some chocolate, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally roasty, yeasty and slightly warming finish. Medium to full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Rather sweet but with enough hop bitterness and a roasty touch. Nice!

Pours an beautiful amber color with medium beige head. Appearance is hazy. Smells of fruits, biscuits and caramel. Medium to high carbonation, love it how it dances on your tongue. Taste is fruity and complex with a pretty strong presence of alcohol. Alcohol here works in a good way because it actually brings out the not so obvious spices and flavours more into the light. Overall, excellent strong ale.

Brown, hazy, ruby highlights. Modest head that vanishes soon. Dark fruit, brandy, sugar syrup on taste. Medium body. Oily. The flavour is relatively dry. Dark fruit, vinous, alcohol well hidden. Smooth bitterness. Good

I almost shed a tear at the beauty of the pour. Medium off white head with a deep brown body. Aroma is plums. Flavor sweet fruit and sugars with light carbonation and thin body. Outstanding.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Rich dark amber colour, aromas of banana, toffee apple and vanilla. Taste is more sweet than bitter, but finely balanced nonetheless.

Bottle 33cl. Red brown with a loose, medium off white head that fades quickly. Sweetness in the aroma combined with hints of wood and malts. The taste is surprisingly flat, little sweet, some touches of wood again. Not too special.

La Trappe Dubbel raczej niczym szczególnym. Ma brązową barwę, średniej wielkości, lekko beżową pianę. W aromacie trochę śliwki, rodzynek i przypraw. W smaku lekko metaliczne. Mamy ciemne owoce, przyprawy i sporą słodycz. Alkohol lekko wyczuwalny. W sumie dobre, ale bez rewelacji!

Bought in a grocery store and drank at home. A really nice beer wich is seriously undervalued in the Netherlands(in my opinion).

Bottle from Drinkshop. Clear amber-brown colour. Rather sweet. Fruity, caramelly, light burnt sugar, dried fruits, light light chocolate. High carbonation, rather easy drinking.
