"Discover this genuine dark Trappist beer with a gentle flavour, creamy head and pronounced bouquet.
La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it.

33oml bottle, poured into Leffe chalice. Amber to auburn in colour, looked pale for a Dubbel, opaque, 1 finger ginger tanned head, lots of lacing retained. Aroma was dark chocolate, cranberry and molasses. Tasted dark chocolate, cranberry, malt and molasses, slightly boozy, decent complexity. Body on the thick side, decent carbonation, smooth. Overall it reminded me of a German Doppelbock, nice colder weather beer.

-really sweet malt, candi sugar, big banana up front -bubble gum, cherry, molasses present -bland finish -overcarbonated (beer exploded upon opening even though stored correctly) good, but the Rochefort 6 and Westmalle have a much more pleasant finish and are better overall

330cc bottle. Pours dark amber with creamy white off head. Lots of caramel, but floral and peppery hoppiness in the back. Sweet toffee with a slightly dryer finish. Reminds me of their Bock bier.
