Almondy, yeast, prunes and raisins in the aroma with notes of straw and metal. Sweet malty and yeasty flavour of banana, almond and milky chocolate. Light bodied for a Dubbell. Almond, light chocolate, nuts and dust in the finish. bb (2976), Martinez, California, USA

Big malty, yeasty, plummy, figgy aroma. Yeasty, malty, slight banana flavor with spice and some dark stone fruit. Medium bodied. LIngering earthy, yeasty, malt. Could be a little richer, but not bad at all. JK (2968), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

Decent but simple aroma of malt with caramel and chocolate. The flavor is similar, malt, caramel and chocolate but with mild alcohol vapors. Light to medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation (unlike La Trappe blond). It’s ok but I feel there’s something missing. skortila (2915), Bunnik, Netherlands

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2008 Bottle: Cola in color, large rocky off-white head, spotty lacing.   Soft bready nose, minor dark pitted fruit, yeasty, smells
like a Koningshoeven.   Semi-sweet, bready, very soft dark pitted fruit.   Not as heavy as many other examples, and in fact its a
little on the milder side.   Very fleeting, finishes very quickly.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate at best.   Good start, but
falls off rather quickly.   Finishes clean, very minor breadiness and dark pitted fruit.   Good, but on the lighter side.

A simple but effective mix of sweet liquorice candy, caramel and earthy berries. Far behind these main flavours I get some floral nectar, some figs and some medicine (cough syrup). Limited hops presence, to say the least. Soft carbonation. Doesn’t feel special or unique but still highly drinkable. thebeertourist (2870), Oslo, Norway

Caramel and fruit aroma, but served a bit too cold to enjoy fully. Sweet caramel and raisins flavours. Medium body, fluffy mouthfeel. Lacking the punch of its stronger brothers it still provides decent complexity, if on the sweet side.
