Pours clear plain brown, small beige head. Strong caramel aroma. Taste is caramel as well, moderately sweet with some yeast and spices. Minimal hopped, and a rather thin mouthfeel. Drinkable, oh yes, but I miss the complexity a trappist dubbel should have.

Nicely sweet, a little caramel and chocolate, plus light fruitiness (a little apple, maybe raisin, some banana) and a vague yeasty spiciness. Primarily a sweet beer and lacking some of the oomph of some dubbels - a little light in body. Some toffee/caramel notes appear as it warms. TAR (2097), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA

Aroma also hints at candy apples, grapes, plums, and sherry. Probably the most complex dubbel tried to date. Warm alcohol kick to boot. Nicely done! radiomgb (2076), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
