It had a pleasant spice aroma with lace that clung to the glass as I drank each sip. The sweet fruits hung around my toungue and made me crave another sip. I found nothing wrong with this beer, I want another! cyrenaica (440), Milton, Ontario, Canada

I tried this beer on May 9, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario on tap. The beer was a beautiful dark brown with some plum coloured hints and a thin, rocky, tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, with some yeasty tones, as well as chocolate and cherry hints. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, mildly carbonated, and slightly creamy. The flavour was caramel malt, some other fruit flavours like cherries and plum, and a little hoppish bitterness to round it out. I loved this beer. yeah (7), Aveiro, Portugal does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Very active aroma with a charcoal traces. Good lasting head and a really nice color. The taste is present for quite a while and is bitter, sour and a little salty. Has a oily texture and a lively carbonation. You can feel a metallic taste in your mouth. freek (3), Amsterdam, Netherlands does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 19, 2009 Unique tasting Trappist, the only of it’s kind of Dutch origin. The smoothest and sweetest of all Trappists, yet still packing enough character and dubbel ’oomph’. My favourite, most of the time... Change with a regular pils or a Westmalle Dubbel in between to keep your palate appreciating it’s sweet strength ;) carlitos99 (184), The Big Apple, USA

It’s less champagne-like on tap than out of the bottle. Fruity, like many trappist style beers, but not sweet. Excellent! savitska (163), Smyrna, Georgia, USA

A plum-y sweetness to the body and an almost alcohol dryness in the finish. This was an incredible beer! Got Stout? (173), Wisconsin, USA

I noticed the elevated sense of self-esteem after three of these, along with the immense flavor that accompanied it. I wish that I could only describe it better. I am a growing fan of Belgians!
