It poured a clear, coffee color with nice carbonation and an off-white head. There was a nice warmth and sweetness in the flavor with a great, abrubt finish. I recommend trying this beer. mistersinalin (378), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

I should have brought more. Although it is Dutch, it still has all of the flavor and character of a trappist dubbel. fata2683 (942), Panama City, Florida, USA

Pours a murky brown with a light tan head. Smells wonderfull....spice, hops, cedar. Tastes slightly sweet, really is nicely balanced with bitterness. Excellent. goldbrew (99), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Robust and luxurious head. Round presence and full mouthfeel. Carbonation is soft and pleasant. Not like a Unibroue fizziness. Very little heat. Not overtly malty and of course minimal to non-existent hoppiness. Less spicy and more thick than a Chimay Blue. That Belgian yeastiness is present throughout. Very enjoyable. Tripplebrew (505), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Pours a clear nutty, amber with thick light tan colored head. Aroma is very caramely and brown sugar syrup. Vanilla extract presented an almond extract there too. Flavor is very mutty balanced with caramel/brown sugar. Malty flavors definitely there. A very subtle chocolate/coffee mix coming across (very light). Body is light but full. honey present in this beer too. soyorganic (217), Denver, Colorado, USA

Wonderful smooth malty taste with thick but subtle sweetness of carmel and brown sugar. I love beers like these. sebletitje (2001), Tampa, Florida, USA

Amberish/brown color with white head.
Aroma is earthly yeast and of dark fruits (cherry or prunes). Grains.
Taste is malty and fruity, lightly sugary and a little bitter/sour finish.
Well balanced beer, awesome flavors. Frovigalning (472), , Sweden
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 18, 2009 It poured a hazy dark red liquid with a big foam, but didn’t leave any lacing on the glass. It had a nice fizzy smell of bread, dried fruit (orange) and peppery spices. The first taste hugged my tongue and it was allot smoother than I expected. The taste was very similar to the smell with the peppery spices and dried fruit. Very round and well balanced which made it easy to drink.
