UPDATED: FEB 20, 2003 Light brownish with amber shades, small head. Nicely sweet, a little caramel and chocolate, plus light fruitiness (a little apple, maybe raisin, some banana) and a vague yeasty spiciness. Primarily a sweet beer and lacking some of the oomph of some dubbels - a little light in body. Some toffee/caramel notes appear as it warms.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gusler (2654) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JAN 27, 2002
Pours a nice deep brown, ’Imagine That’, beige head that dissipates quickly, the lace is adequate. Nose is as ’Trappist’ said grape like, some chocolate tones, along with a bit of malt. Start sweet, the middle thin, and a bit sour, the finish is acidic, mild carbonation, hops present along with the alcohol, dry, winish. More thin than I would normally like, not great, but good none the less.

Medium-high carbonation with medium watery body. Hints of bubblegum or melon when cool? Light Twizzler taste. Slighty sweet to start, lactic. Brown sugar, dark fruit. Good level of hops to give bitterness to finish. Alcohol is evident. Somewhat watery. Pleasant nutty bitter after.
