Also used it as an ingredientin a steak pie, worked well. :) DarkMagus (433), San Jose, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 20, 2006 Deep reddish-amber (almost purple) color... initially a large head, but fades quickly, leaving behind a chaotic pattern of tan micro-bubbles on the surface. Aroma of fresh plums, raisins, apples, caramel, sweet malts, and yeast. Huge flavors of sweet malts, caramel, dried fruits (plums, cherries, raisins), fresh fruits (apples, pears, grapes). Unbelievably silky smooth mouthfeel with a somewhat honey-like viscousness. Amazingly drinkable despite its heaviness. Finishes extremely dry with a pleasant sweet-but-hoppy aftertaste. One of the best dubbels I’ve every had--possesses all of the qualities I look for in the style. Completely amazing. Quevillon (1543), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada

Immediately notice the re/brown colouring and "murky" look - big fan. Wonderful fruity aroma (banana?) - very noticeable. Flavour while very good not as full bodied as some others I have tried previously. Very enjoyable and competetively priced - certainly have again. ScoWRee (277), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Starts with a malty caramel flavor that gives way to a milder flavor with some fruitiness as well. A fairly simple trappist but still quite good. Their quad is better and more complex, so it gets my vote. cfrancis (372), Gloucester, Ontario, Canada
