"Discover this genuine dark Trappist beer with a gentle flavour, creamy head and pronounced bouquet.
La Trappe Dubbel has a deep brown colour and attractive beige froth. The use of caramel malt gives it a gentle aromatic caramelised quality. It has a rich malty flavour with a touch of sweetness. Post-fermenting La Trappe Dubbel is a smooth drink, and yet has some real body and intense flavour to it.

330cc bottle. Pours dark amber with creamy white off head. Lots of caramel, but floral and peppery hoppiness in the back. Sweet toffee with a slightly dryer finish. Reminds me of their Bock bier.

Foam is close, continuous and absolutely beautiful. At the same time filled my nose with an expectant malty aroma. When I lift the glass to assess the flavor is enhanced malt aroma and mixed with a light hop and lots of fruit. Foam still hangs thick on the inside of the glass and the taste is first sweetish. So sweet that you should first think it is a beer fr dessert, but in the subsequent second opens the beer itself and fills the mouth with the sweet caramel malt, the bitter but still light hops and the refreshing and tasty fruit flavors which include plums. I also sense a faint taste nuance of nuts. On the whole, the taste is very complex and full-bodied, and although I have always loved Westmalle Dubbel very high and loyal so I think this dubbel is quite on the same level. The finish is long and pleasantly bitter and slightly marked by a little acidity. Can certainly be recommend very highly.
