Orange in color with a white head. Citrus, oak, pear, and banana up front. Sweet caramel, brown sugar, hints of vanilla, and some sweet apple and bread. There’s a strong apple character and a pronounced oakiness. Sweet caramel, brown sugar, and banana. Some citrus peel, pear, and notes of vanilla.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Atom (1007) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle pours a dark amber/brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, Belgian yeast, with strong Oak. Taste has some subtle Belgian yeast more so on the finish, but it is hardly noticeable as the taste is dominated by vanilla and oak, with a strong caramel malt. Easy drinking oak barrel goodness, my favorite of a style I’m usually not keen on.

Chestnut brown, unclear with some small flocks of yeast. Not a very complicated taste, but it does haves nice wood flavour from the barreling. Some vanilla and bourbon, yeast. Ok body and rather high carbo. From trade with Benzai, thanks Rene!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Indra (2482) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - DEC 12, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2012 12.7oz., bottled in March of 2011, cellared since that time. Aroma of light brown sugar, red grape and oak, sweet and fruity with a hint of cellar must (which did not detract), also apparent is the distinctively Koeningshoeven spicy, estery house yeast character. Hazy medium orange in color, choosing to leave the sediment in the bottle this time, with a lasting, fine-bubbled head and some excellent lace. Flavor profile is very gently sweet, vinous, fruity, even a tinge of tartness appearing here, along with hints of woody oak, vanilla, toffee and a very gentle bitterness appearing towards the long finish. Smooth and very lightly warming on the palate, just a touch of acidity which is quite welcome, body is medium. Intriguing stuff, rather refined and well-made. Also one of the most expensive beers I have purchased to date.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Sammy (7115) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 2, 2012
Soft balanced Belgian ale, cellared for a while, from Oak Tree Liquors. Cloudy yellow coloured body with some retained head. Medium plus smooth mouthfeel, almost creamy. A good drinkability The oak is there, and it is subtle.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 daje (1392) - NORWAY - OCT 23, 2012
Bottle at Amundsen, september 7th 2012. Cloudy dark orange body, big beige head. Oaked aroma, belgian yeast, sweet with fruits and vanilla. Taste is very dominated by oak, with caramel, plums, yeast and alcohol. Could probably have done with slightly less oak, as it delivers a little bitter offtaste.
