3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: medium, banana bread. Light soft alcohol
Appearance: body, hazy, ember. Head, off-white, good retention.
Flavour: malt: bready, lingering. Yeast: med banana, lingering. Alcohol, high peppery, lingers. Hops: light, spicy.
Mouthfeel: medium warming, very high caronation, high carbonic sting. Medium-light body.
Overall: I expected more complexity. Good, but too much sting and warming.
330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Andre.

Flaske fra vinmonopolet. Lys brun, uklar farget, lite karbonert med en tynn hvit skumtopp. Smaker hvete, karamell, frukt og gjær. Noe funk og sødme. En ganske god belgian ale

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle poured in my favorite Grimbergen’s chalice.
A: Beautiful amber color. A bit cloudy. Huge two fingers head which dissipates quite quickly leaving a bit of lacings
S: Sweet malts. Sweet bubblegum and a bit of yeasts in the end
T: Sweet malts is very evident, caramel and yeasts. Bitter end
M: Medium body and molasses. Medium carbonation
La Trappe, IMHO, is the "less good" Trappist. However, still a quite good beer.

33cl flesje bij Capadokia, Maastricht
Alcoholpercentage van 7,5%
Uitgeschonken in originele glas

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Paid $5.25 for a 330 ml bottle from craft Beer Cellar, Portsmouth, NH. Served just slightly chilled. The color is a couldn’t amber that has slowly fading head on a slow canted pour into a Trappist glass. The aroma shows me some fruity yeast, with lots of toffee, and malty tones.
The flavor is starts with some spiced banana followed by clove and I hate to use it but ( bubblegum ). The texture is on the fuller side with some chewy yeast. No bitterness whatsoever with this being do all about by fruit, sugar and malt. Serviceable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Beautiful amber but the foam does not persist. Caramel with some salt licorice, toffee, a bit of alcohol, very noticeable pepper. Long dry finish of dried fruit and salt licorice. Well crafted but not my style

"Very fruity, light and dark, with pronounced oaking and a long lasting dry and spicy sweet Belgian yeast aftertaste. Nice but not as good as we were expecting."

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very hazy deep amber body with a large, tan, creamy and very dense head that stays finger-thick for a long time before settling as a thick layer, and giving rise to lots of beautiful lacings. Malty, sweet and strong aroma of Belgian yeast, spices, dark berries, pale malts, sugar, marzipan and hints of dark dried fruits. Strong flavour of Belgian yeast, generic fruits, alcohol, sugar, and malty notes that tastes far lighter than the colour of the beer. Also faint traces of dark dried fruits. The taste is moderate sweet and moderate to light bitter. Close to full bodied, lively carbonation, pretty dry finish. A good one that shouldn’t be served too cold: it really opens up when the temperature reaches 13-14ºC.
