Aroma agradable y bien definido. Se distinguen aromas a grano, cebada y notas florales por el Lupulo utilizado. Se perciben ciertas notas a frutas secas. En cuanto a su apariencia, color cobre, opaco y turbia. Cuerpo redondo, densa y cremosa con sedimentación visible. Carbonatación ligera y corona de espuma media de larga retención. En boca es suave, cremosa y ligeramente acida. Al paladar es compleja. Suave y seca en primera instancia, posteriormente se percibe ligeramente acida y finalmente se denotan notas vinosas sin llegar a ser fuertemente alcohólica. La levadura se percibe fácilmente dotando la cerveza de un sabor distinguido. Estructura elegante y bien equilibrada. En general es una cerveza trapense algo diferente pero sumamente agradable. Destaca su complejidad pero a la vez su excelente equilibrio sin permitir que sea demasiado dulce o amarga. Los sabores denotan que se trata de una verdadera cerveza trapense muy interesante y fácil de beber, pero que se disfruta mejor como cualquier trapense, al beber con tranquilidad, disfrutando cada sorbo.

Bottle. Pours muddy brown. Off white head. Nose and taste of plum raisin, burnt caramel toffee, fruit cake, melted butterscotch and dark fruits. Medium body.

33 cL bottle Beers of Europe into a La Trappe glass. Dark orange-red with a generous foamy head. Meaty, malty and slightly sour aroma. Rich, spiced, caramel with plenty of body. Good stuff.

Orange, white head. Nose is banana, cloves, nuts. Taste is banana cream pie. Thin sticky mouthfeel.

Aroma implies a gently sour amber/brown, contrary to the turbid farmhouse gold it pours. An impressively clean, wonderfully balanced beer. I don’t prefer trappist beers - this I enjoy. Fresh, subtle barnyard notes, with backbone! Sharp, constant refreshment on the palate. Put me on a French hillside, smelling baguettes and craving Brie.

Une brasserie de 150 ans ça se fête ! Et en beauté. Une ambrée de caractère qui ne dégage pas énormément d'arôme mais qui une fois en bouche de vient gourmande. Elle enveloppe le palais avec ses notes de sucre roux et de fruits. Sa légère acidité vient piquoter la langue histoire de réveiller les sens. Très agréable.

Aroma van vijgen, rozijnen. Mooi donker amber bier met bescheiden crèmeïg witte kraag. Koolzuur is redelijk aanwezig in de mond. Smaak is mooi in balans: lichtdroog en bitterzoet.

Solid belgian ale. Not as robust as the quad, but then again it isn’t trying to be. Aromas of yeast, malt, some dried fruit character. Flavor is complex and refreshing. Another great trappist.

A work of art. Spices and dried fruit flavors abound Aroma of caramel, figs, oranges, etc. taste is complex mixture of the noted aromas, with a lingering palate and slightly dry finish. Very nice indeed, a fitting tribute to Brother Isadore.
