Orange, white head. Nose is banana, cloves, nuts. Taste is banana cream pie. Thin sticky mouthfeel.

Aroma implies a gently sour amber/brown, contrary to the turbid farmhouse gold it pours. An impressively clean, wonderfully balanced beer. I don’t prefer trappist beers - this I enjoy. Fresh, subtle barnyard notes, with backbone! Sharp, constant refreshment on the palate. Put me on a French hillside, smelling baguettes and craving Brie.

Mooi donker amber bier met bescheiden crèmeïg witte kraag. Koolzuur is redelijk aanwezig in de mond. Smaak is mooi in balans: lichtdroog en bitterzoet.

Solid belgian ale. Not as robust as the quad, but then again it isn’t trying to be. Aromas of yeast, malt, some dried fruit character. Flavor is complex and refreshing. Another great trappist.

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. Prototypical Trappist. Dark fruits and yeast dominant on nose and taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A work of art. Spices and dried fruit flavors abound Aroma of caramel, figs, oranges, etc. taste is complex mixture of the noted aromas, with a lingering palate and slightly dry finish. Very nice indeed, a fitting tribute to Brother Isadore.

Haven’t been going Belgium in a while but this was a very nice beer. Pours a light brown, sweet caramel aroma. Beer is very well balanced, with a bit of bitterness to finish.

Really nice beer. Pours brown/orange with an initial big foamy head that dissipates to just a ring. No lacing. Nose is candi sugar and some fruit. Aromas of apricot, candi, dough, fruit. Tastes are medium sweet with a slight bitterness to the finish. Alcohol is present but not in a bad way. Body is medium to full with a light creamy feel. Light-ish carbonation.

Pours a large creamy off-white head that mostly diminishes. Body is hazy and amber, sparkles are visible. Aroma contains cereal, caramel, orange, lemon, dough, soap, leather, banana, grape, raisin, plum, tawny port, toffee, alcohol and spices. Flavor starts off light acidic and then goes to sweet. There's light bitterness all the way. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. A fine, fruity beer.
