COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after brother Isidorus, Koningshoeven Abbey’s first brewer. Brewed to mark the occasion of the Trappist brewery’s 125th anniversary in 2009, Isid’or was so well received that it earned itself a permanent place in La Trappe’s line-up. Unfiltered, slightly sweet amber ale with a hint of caramel, which continues to ferment after bottling and has a rich, slightly bitter flavour, and a fruity aftertaste. Wheat & barley malts, Perle hop.

Flaska från Systembolaget. Klar röd bärnstensfärgad vätska med lågt vitt skum. Doftar belgo och karamell. Sött. Smaken går åt samma håll. Små stickiga bubblor. Välsmakande.

750ml brown bottle, corked. Hazy orange with a nice compact white head. Nose has raisin and caramel. Tate has some fruity notes, yeast, caramel, raisins. Yeasty finish, maybe a touch of hops. Lighter mouthfeel than expected. Overall a good stronger Belgian ale, pretty approachable.

Cloudy with many small particles, Aroma: spicy alcohol, caramel, dried figs. Light sourness and bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall this is a strong ale with dried fruits, caramel and light spice notes. Not bad.

BOTTLE 33 CL. O, yeah... you know a Belgian (amber - the like of Brigand or Piraat) Strong when you smell it - sugary sweetness, sweet con, sweet dried fruit (figs, apricot) and spicy alcohol. Lots of sweetness balanced by alcohol spice and heat - that is the name of the game. OK.

Slightly clouded orange amber pour with mediocre white head. Not really a smell. Sweaty feet way hidden in the back. Not actually getting a lot more. Sweet breaded malts and caramelized stuff for taste. Some tropical fruits in there also. Medium bodied and has a nice little carbonation going on. Nice, but had a lot better from these monks.

Vol zoetig fris caramel fruitig aroma. Prachtige kleur en cremeige schuimlaag zoals alle la trappe trappisten. Komt vol bruisend binnen met een zachte zoete bitter. Dun qua smaak en palet. Zacht fris fruitig. Zachte ronde bitter in de afdronk.

Clear, dark amber beer with a thin head and a strong, floral aroma. Flavour has a sweet taste of the sort you often get in this sort of beer where if it weren’t balanced so well by the bitter hops it could be sickly. Strong, alchohol-y malt taste. A bit more body wouldn’t go amiss but it’s generally a really nice, well-rounded beer.
