Haven’t been going Belgium in a while but this was a very nice beer. Pours a light brown, sweet caramel aroma. Beer is very well balanced, with a bit of bitterness to finish.

Really nice beer. Pours brown/orange with an initial big foamy head that dissipates to just a ring. No lacing. Nose is candi sugar and some fruit. Aromas of apricot, candi, dough, fruit. Tastes are medium sweet with a slight bitterness to the finish. Alcohol is present but not in a bad way. Body is medium to full with a light creamy feel. Light-ish carbonation.

Pours a large creamy off-white head that mostly diminishes. Body is hazy and amber, sparkles are visible. Aroma contains cereal, caramel, orange, lemon, dough, soap, leather, banana, grape, raisin, plum, tawny port, toffee, alcohol and spices. Flavor starts off light acidic and then goes to sweet. There's light bitterness all the way. Body is medium with creamy texture and soft carbonation. A fine, fruity beer.

Bottle. Appearance is a hazy rusted orange and ruby color with light beige foam. Aroma is mostly candi sugar, caramel malt and yeast along with some dried fruit and dessert spice in the background. The flavor opens up with brown sugar, dark fruits and Belgian yeast before leading to notes of citrus rind, herbal hops and oak. Mouthfeel is relatively robust and creamy with medium carbonation and a slightly tart, sugary finish. Overall, a unique blend of Belgian IPA and Trappist Ale flavors.

30cl. Bottle. Poors cloudy amber with small white head. Aroma caramel, bread, peach, sweet, sugar. Taste soft bitter, caramel fruity sweet. Mouth-feel creamy. Awesome beer, amber in color, so much going on in the nose and taste.

ALLOVATE (2107) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - FEB 8, 2013
At just on cool this one produced up all hazy, a russet amber in body with fine carbonation and a lapsing fluff of white. Peach, mango and orange rind poke out amongst notes of caramel, yeast and fresh baked white bread on the nose. VERY bready is the palate. Yeasty and heavy, and a little clumsy in flavour. Butterscotch and caramel in there as some caramelised citrus and shaded spice late. Similar swallow and aftertaste. Not much here to be enjoyed. The carbonation lifts it a little yet it is still too filling and cumbersome in the stomach. Pretty average! (corked 75cL, BBE 05/13, Mane Liquor, Belmont)
