3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MatSciGuy (893) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 30, 2009
[Bottle] Pours a really pretty honey/amber color with a moderate to large fluffy beige head. Aroma is well balanced with lots of yeasty fruit esters, some peppery spiciness, and sweetish malt. Flavor again is well balanced, lighter and less sweet than I was expecting, bready and yeasty, with a nice spicy pepper note on the finish. Very quality beer.

This is just amazing. Perfect CO2, smooth, "a dangerous beer" - only issue is that it’s to small in a 33 cl. bottle!

Dark amber coloured, high foamy head, lots of carbon dioxide. Aroma of malt, hops, a bit yeasty, light fruity, somewhat bitter. Lots od carbon dioxide when drinking, furthermore hoppy and bitter, with hints of nuts. Mwah, not bad but not so special.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 hombrepalo (1401) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 24, 2009
750ml bottle. Had to hit this, love them brewing monks. Poured a lighter brown with tan lasting head. Aroma of yeast, malts, some dark fruits, and carmel. Flavor is light belgin ale, lighter than expected. Carbonation is right on, not too soft not too strong. I’d say overall this is easy to drink but I’d expect more flavor and stronger from a trappist belgian ale.
