3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice brew, named after the first beer brewer of La Trappe, brother Isidor. Loads of carbonisation in the glass. A nice foamy thick head that stays on during the drink. Taste has a bit of caramel, some bread and nuts. Too bad it doesn’t stay long. Colour is nice amber red and looks good in the La Trappe goblet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Hefig alkoholischer Antrunk, wenig herb, etwas süßlich. Das Bier bietet nicht gerade ein breites Aromenspektrum. Zum Ende noch muffig malzig. 7/6/7/6/8/6

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a medium copper with thin white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is light fruit, apricot, pear. Taste is light malts with a nice sour apple overtone. The apple really becomes prevalent as it warms up. Very mild spice. Soft, light/medium bodied, some carbonation. Goes down very easy but not much to remember.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amberbrown body, lightly filtered, with nutty coloured head. Big head with small bubbles that brings out a yeasty aroma. Dough, leather, roasty and spices/nutmeg. Rich typical Belgian style sweetness with a slight bitterness in the back - but fatty rather than dry. Like the sticky mouthfeel. Slow drinker. (33cl bottle)

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bottle into a trappist glass. The head is very thick, and the lacing is smooth and creamy. The color is a hazy amber, with a medium body. The scent is rich with dark fruits (plum more specifically) and some caramel with a hint of spice. The flavor is delicious and satisfying, the low carbonation makes it seem creamy. Flavors of sweet malts and yeast come to the tongue, with a faint vanilla bean aftertaste chased by the spicy warmth of a nice 7.5% abv. I loved this brew, simply another fantastic trappist brew.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Red amber colour, enthusiastic, fluffy, cream white head. Yeasty malt aroma, some tartness, banana, reminding of overripe fruit. Rather sweet flavour, quite malty, caramel, some spice. Slight bitterness coming through. Finish rather dry, some lingering fruits/malt tones. Rather nice.
(From 33cL bottle)
Brewed for the 125th aniversary of the brewery, and this is my 125th rating. What a coincidence ;)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle. Looks nice in the glass: Opaque, hazy, orange-amber hue with small amount of yeast sediment, large frothy light beige head quickly diminishes, sudsy lacing. Divine array of complex aromas: very fruity (sweet over-ripe fruits, apricot, banana esters, cherry) marzipan, moderately malty especially caramel, toffee, brown sugar, yeasty , spicy (clove especially) later on a hint of mint, yuuum. Tastes delicious: light heavy sweet though not cloying, moderately bitter. Enjoyable palate: medium body, oily slightly syrupy texture, light carbonation, dry warming spicy finish. Very very enjoyable.

Bottle 750ml. Exceptional beer. Aromas of caramel, nuts, and bread. Taste has a sweet start, with bitterness taking over for a long finish. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Orange, with a frothy head.
