COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after brother Isidorus, Koningshoeven Abbey’s first brewer. Brewed to mark the occasion of the Trappist brewery’s 125th anniversary in 2009, Isid’or was so well received that it earned itself a permanent place in La Trappe’s line-up. Unfiltered, slightly sweet amber ale with a hint of caramel, which continues to ferment after bottling and has a rich, slightly bitter flavour, and a fruity aftertaste. Wheat & barley malts, Perle hop.

Amber with very small white head but a lot of bubbles. Sweet malts with big spices (koriander, cinnamon, nutmeg). Nice dried fruits and some apple, prunes and orange. Nice yeast profile and faint liquorice. Medium bodied with prickly carbonation. Decent stuff.

0.33 bottle.
A hazy, amber color with an orange tinge and a large, off-white head of good retention. Aroma of dark fruits, yeasts, and spices - just alright. Taste is sweet, its character is yeasty and malty with another doze of dark fruits. A medium to full body, a creamy texture, and a lively to fizzy carbonation. Finish is long, sweet, consummate, fruity, and spicy. All in all the beer is good, too carbonated though.

Aroma: malty, sweet, with a little caramel; Appearance: dark amber with white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: rich and slightly fruity; nice bitter bite of a typical Belgian; Overall: maybe a little too sweet but still quite good.

Van de tap @abdij de westerburcht. Mooie Belgian Ale, mout, gedroogd fruit in zowel geur als smaak. Mooie volle smaak, weinig carbonatie, maar dat verminderd de kwaliteit niet. Goed!

Genialne Belgijskie Ale. Delikatny owocowy na początku smak przechodzi w słodowy karmel. Godne polecenia. Brilliant Belgian Ale. Delicate fruity flavor at the beginning turns into caramel malt. Worth recommending.
