Bottle from Utobeer market stall. Amber pour with a white head that soon dissipates. Aromas of barley sugars, raspberries, toffee, vanilla. Flavours of caramel, citrus, malts, summer fruits. Finishes sweet, dry and fruity. Nice.

Pours hazy amber with a beige head and lively carbonation. Aroma is earthy with roasted malts, woodsy, clove, slight resin hop, also slight alcohol. Taste is sweet and slightly bitter, salty. Long full palate with a creamy texture. Carbonation disapates quickly. Lacing is good.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2010 750 ml. corked n’ caged bottle- Pours unclear golden amber with a skim of foam, the aroma is bananas and yeast, also very Belgium. The flavor is very Belgium obviously, fruity up front and no alcohol presence, just pure brewing genius, its nice to finally have the only Trappist brewery thats actually not form Belgium, and it could not taste finer. Thats not to say that this is the best trappist brew, I can think of at least five that are better, all from Belgium. Thats not to say anything bad about this beer, its a great beer.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2011 Refrigerated bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours clear amber with inch high head off-white head. Medium/High carbonation, good lacing, and good body. Taste is dark fruit, some spice, and a hint of caramel/toffee. This is good beer, hopefully they will turn it into a regular option.

erickok (1086) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 10, 2011
Amberbrown body, lightly filtered, with nutty coloured head. Big head with small bubbles that brings out a yeasty aroma. Dough, leather, roasty and spices/nutmeg. Rich typical Belgian style sweetness with a slight bitterness in the back - but fatty rather than dry. Like the sticky mouthfeel. Slow drinker. (33cl bottle)

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2012 Rerate: tap @ La Trappe. Notes can be the same, but I preferred it much more than before. Great balanced belgian ale. Bottled, thanks to jerohen. Hazy orange color, medium head. Aroma is bit spicy, bit fruity. Slight sweet, bit spicy taste. Decent belgian ale. 3.4

Tap at Max’s Belgian Fest 2010. One of the better Belgians on tap for the fest. Pours a deep copper brown with a nice lasting fluffy head. Aroma is spicy nice herbal and peppery phenolics, some burnt toast, biscuit malts, light caramel sweetness and restrained fruitiness. Flavor is nicely sweet- caramel, crystal malts, candy sugar, toast, biscuit, leather and earth with nice phenolics- light clove, pepper, and low fruitiness- airy and fluffy smooth finish. nice.

Copper color and a tall white head. Aroma has sweet malt, yeast, and dried fruit. Surprisingly sweet flavor, more sugar, sweet malt, and just a little hops. A little plant/flower character. Thick, sticky, and fulled palate.
