3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Little bit hazy brown/amber with small layer for a head. Bread, malt, and something familiar but inexplicable smell. Honey comes to mind but that ain’t it. Malty and again bread for taste and still that flavor I can’t describe. Very thin mouthfeel, way to thin for my likings along with the acceptable bubbles. Would’ve given it a higher rating but the body killed it. Just fine!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle equipped with a rubbery ’cork’ that was exceptionally hard to remove. Served in a Belgian snifter.
Appearance - red-brown color, lightly hazy; fairly durable tan head; spotty lacing.
Aroma - Spiced bread, Belgian yeast and an abundance of dark fruit. Jubilaris has a solidified aroma with plenty of complexity. In addition to such usual features as raisins and brown spices, these are hints of red grape juice and white pepper.
Flavor: Mainly brown bread and dark fruits with some complex spiciness. Hints of chocolate, raisns, dried plums and grape juice. The finish is a touch more bitter than expected.
M - Crisp carbonation; medium-light body seems too thin; dry finish.
O - As a special Jubilaris brew from a world class Trappist brewery, this ale is a little disappointing in regard to feel and flavor. But at only 6% ABV this is still an outstanding "big" Belgian brown.

On sale at Holiday Wine Cellar for half off. Pours amber with a decent white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, minerals. Decent enough taste, slightly metallic, just run of the mill Belgian ale, pretty mediocre.
