Bottle from Systembolaget. Dominated by caramel, with a mix of herbs and spices. Decent.

Shared with Tbone, thanks Timo ! Dark hazy amber color with small frothyy off-white head. Fruity nose. Aroma has sweet ripe fruits and a bit of yeast. Flavour is fruity (dried figs, plum?) and licorice. Alcohol is noticeable despite low%. nicely balanced, pleasant brew.

What a beautiful beer. A jubilee La Trappe beer being brewed for you, is the biggest honor a man can get. The beer is very appealing. The beer forms a large 1 centimeter white frothy head, which collapses to leave a thin creamy layer of slightly of white foam. The beer has a beautiful ruby red color, very beautiful when the sun is behind the glas and illuminates the contents. The smell is good. There is a sweet aroma, which gives a nice fruitiness. There is also a spicy coriander aroma. The smell is both sweet and herbal, which gives a perfect balance. There is a slight hint of metal. The mouth sensation is nice. However, the carbonation might have been a little more. The palate could have been a little more exiting. The taste is nice. The beer has the familiar La Trappe taste, which makes this my favorite brand. The beer has a nice almondy caramel light brown taste. This sweet tastes are balanced by a hoppy bitternes. The sweet and bitter flavors are balanced out perfectly. The beer also has a little refreshing sour aroma. Really, really nice. Unfortunately, the beer is seasonal and not available permanently. The batch has a sell by date of august 2015, so I guess getting hold on a bottle by now is very hard. Luckily I have another one in store...

750ml bottle, from Dutch’s. A recent arrival. Looks slightly low fill. Had to use my teeth to open the thing (I remember having to that while tasting through the oak-aged quads..). Pours a hazy red, slight brown color. Just a little ring of off-white head. Dark fruit up front, toastiness, caramel, mild nuttiness. Nice richness to it. Some orchard fruit. Lighter, kind of crisp but somewhat abrupt carbonation initially. Smooths out after sitting, though. Lightly slick. Medium-plus body. Moderate-plus bitter taste, light sweet, kind of more dry finish. Nice to enjoy with my sandwich, but on it’s own, it’s a bit spicy, kind of rough, with an abrupt finish. Pleasant aroma, but not much to it, very brief. Almost feels like a watered-down version of a nicer, bigger beer.

0,75 l bottle from bier.de. Clear, reddish amber with a medium large, creamy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Fruity-malty aroma of raisins, prunes, dates, caramel and nuts, maybe minimal hints of cardboard. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, nuts, honey and sugar with subtle hints of raisins and dates, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter and minimally alcoholic finish with a bit of licorice. Medium to full body, creamy and smooth mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Solid ale with typical trappist creaminess. Quite sweet, sadly the fruity notes of the aroma can hardly be found in the taste. Still, I like it and it is a nice tick!

75 cl. bottle, shared. Hazy, dark amber colour with golden hues. Lightly tanned, thin head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, fruits, candid sugar, earthy and floral hops. Toasted and liqourice notes. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with caramel malts, fruits and yeasty notes. Nice Belgian.

Pours a dark amber body with a medium head. Sweet and sugary aroma. Nice and well balanced taste, could have been a bit richer though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poco carbonata, corpo medio-leggero.

Dark red amber. Short-lived beige head. Caramel, butterscotch, orange peel, chocolate, biscuit. Soft and creamy, low on CO2. Fast-paced, well balanced. Strange after-taste with hints of wheat flour, mushrooms and malt. Nice, but definitely not the best from La Trappe.
