37.5cl bottle. Tasting of the 12 first La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged variants, together with the original beer (La Trappe Quadrupel).
Appearance: no head, unstable, light amber beer.
Nose: port, caramel, already somewhat oxidated, some wood, alcohol noticeable. Some anise when smelling the cork.
Taste: port, sweet alcohol, again somewhat oxidated.
Nice beer, but you shouldn’t keep it lying around any longer.

Draft at In De Wildeman, a real treat! Pours cloudy brown with a tan head. Aroma of toffee, banana, spices, oak, vanilla, fruits following up. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. I never had the chance to try this fresh after release, but certainly lovely at this age.

Sample on tap @ In De Wildeman (thanks Simon!) . Cloudy orange color. Off white head. Aroma’s: sweets, sweet malts, vanilla, oak, some fruit as well. Flavor is medium sweet, alcoholic, notes of wood. Alcohol feel is fairly strong, body is medium. Still enough carbonation. Long finish with a light bitterness. Seems better now than it was when this was just released, but that might just be my memory.
