Cloudy amber beer. Big tan head that tastes of oaky butter cream - yum! Semi soft dry palate. Vanilla oak and banana. Peppery spice. Trace of bubblegum and aniseed alcohol. Dry finish. If not for the spice this could pass for a dessert beer. Tasty Dutch treat!

Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Brussels.
Pours muddy dark orange with a small, creamy, beige head. Aroma has caramel, smoke, oranges, pear winegums. Medium carbonation, fine dry and creamy palate. Flavour has caramel, dried fruits, peity smoke, vinious. Notes of Scottish whiskey (even if those barrels weren’t used). A bit sharper than the others, sadly. Still great, though.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2012 Re-rate at Joes’ La Trappe Oak Aged Vertical, February 25 2012. Clear ruby red color, small white head. Smell malts, sweet, nice sweet-fruityness, lightly alcohol. Taste nicely sweet-fruity, lightly some ’fruitpeel’-bitterness especially in the aftertaste, lightly alcohol. Medium but soft carbonation, medium body. Very nice.
