4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 CDE (1) - NETHERLANDS - APR 24, 2013 does not count
The Malbec is overal present, to my personal option a bit too much. A logical conclusion of the munks the follow up batch (batch #11) is blended to take out the dominating ’over ripe’\ ’dried’ prune taste of batch #10.
P.s. very supprising ’prune’ is not mentioned as taste!
Never the less a very beautifull and supprising beer.
Compliments from a true Quadruppel drinker!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 RexTalionis (1425) - FINLAND - APR 17, 2013
Bottle 37,5 cl. Pours brown in color with a small tan head. Vinous notes, dark bread, light notes of wood ’n vanilla in aroma. Same notes of dark bread, not that sweet, even if there’s some sweeter tones in form some plums and raisins. Slightly vinous in taste as well, a bit like some plum liqour notes here. Has got a nice dark fruity bready aftertaste. Slightly warming finish and gets actually a bit too sweet towards the end.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 PriorL (260) - BELGIUM - APR 7, 2013
37.5cl bottle. Tasting of the 12 first La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged variants, together with the original beer (La Trappe Quadrupel).
Appearance: dark amber beer, small to no head, unstable.
Nose: wine, red fruits.
Taste: caramel, red fruits with some alcohol, better in balance than batch#9 in my opinion.

A little hazy red/brown colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of fruits with raisins and a little oak. Notes of alcohol. The taste of a little chocolate with raisins and sweet fruits. 3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Torrefacto (62) - - FEB 22, 2013
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jookos (762) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 17, 2013
Bottle. Murky dark red-brown. Nose is a bit oaky, with raisin-sweet malts, and candi sugar. Yeasty esters, overripe and dried fruits. Body is soft, oily, with sweet malts, candi. The oak is clearly present, as wood and a vanilla sweetish aroma. With all the sweetish malts and candi, it gets really candyish. Long finish, plums, overripe fruits. A beer best shared, preferrably with some dry dessert cake. A lot of flavours, and sweetness.
