3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a beautiful brown reddish unclear beer with a good white head. Smells a bit vanilla, alcohol, sweet. It tastes vanilla, very sweet but not in a bad way, somewhat like bourbon. Carbo is good. Average. Medium body. I would like it more thicker. A bit sticky texture. Nice one.

Brown color, hazy; minimal white foam, nice lacing - aroma of dark fruits, honey, oak wood, spices, smells somehow smoky - very balanced taste, medium sweetness, very light bitterness - medium to full body, oily and creamy texture, soft carbonation - long finish with wood aroma.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
35.5cl bootle. Served cold. Due this - it does not feel like quad, but rather perfect barley wine with extra slick body. Superb beer. Does cost a lot, but it is worth to get it on yout list. Serve it warm - 14degC. Or even warmer. Best oak aged beer so far for me.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Part of tasting session with Oak Aged #1, #10, #12, # 13, #14, and #17. Small head, tiny yeast particles. Nose is not as strong as in other batches, but nonetheless nicely balanced with fruity and flowery notes, some vanilla, wood, honey perhaps. Very smooth fruity flavor, some tannins perhaps even, oak, quite dry. Lasting fruity finish. Highly remarkable: i don´t like cognac nor Pinot Noir wines, but it seems those are the batches of oak aged Quadrupel i enjoy the most...

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep red-brown, almost no head, some gas. Deep and light spiced flavour. A very nice and complex beer, and a bit ’meaty’ in terms of flavours.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 375ml. corked.
[ As La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch #13 ].
[ Trade by Benzai ]. Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, oak - wood, fruity, alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dried fruit, oak, malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. IMO: Quit simple and not as smooth and easy going as f.ex the #12 ..

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 375ml at home, c&c, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 10%
Deep amber red colour on a slighty hazy body, with tiny pieces of yeast floating around in it. Small off-white head, a bit thin, with okay retention, minimal lacing on the glass.
Divine aroma, vanilla, honey, wood, alcohol, lots of dark fruits, grape and wine notes.
Taste of red wine, honey, caramel, wood, a bit of smoke or peat -just a tiny hint-, very well hidden alcohol, quite sweet in general but not cloying, very good.
Medium thin body, good carbonation, slight oily palate, smooth beer.
Overall very good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours deep amber, a bit hazy, frothy tan head that quickly dissipates. No real lacing. Aromas are caramel, vanilla, wood, sweet dark fruits (caramelised apples, raisins, etc.) and alcohol. The Belgian yeast is less apparent than I’d expect. Flavour is medium-strong sweet, mild bitterness, medium booze. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, light fizz. Really like this!
