3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared by EZAnt, thanks Anthony. Poured an orange/amber with an average foamy off white bubbly head. Aroma of wood, alcohol, wet wood, vanilla, toffe, dark fruit and a hint of butter. Thin to average body with stronger carbonation and a very foamy overall. Flavor of alcohol, bread, apples, tea and wood. Meh was hoping for more from a BA quad but this one is just okay at best.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (batch 3) thanks to drbill. Pours with a hazy amber hued body with a lasting tan head and some very nice lace. Aromas are quite rich with caramel, melanoidins, dark fruits, raisins, oak and brown sugar. Very rich malt profile with some dark fruit esters. Very light oak presence. Flavors are rich and velvety with notes of raisins, figs dates and oak. Estery with medium toasted wood notes. Sweet overall but a very nice balance. Medium bubbles, dry, very lightly tannic. Well done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12.7 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy deep copper color with a medium sized creamy off white head. The nose has big ripe fruits, raisins, fig, caramel, brown sugar oak and a touch of the alcohol. The flavor is more fruits, raisins, fig, caramel, oak and alcohol. There is some burn to the mouth feel that grabs my attention, but I like this more than I initially thought I would.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poured a hazy brown color with an average frothy light brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy woody, yeast, dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth sticky texture, thin particles and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration with a small alcohol burn. This is a good complex brew.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
375ml bottle from the Four Firkins. Dark caramel colored pour with a slight foamy white had that quickly fades into a small creamy mass in the middle of the glass. Aroma has a ton going on...very boozy, with the dark fruity notes (figs, raisins, plums) really coming through with a bit of the oak as well. Sweetness engulfs the tongue as you take a drink with the vibrant carbonation bringing everything to life. More of the dark fruit flavors are all over this beer and the subtle oakiness finishes on your tongue after you swallow. Probably not worth the extra cost over the regular version of this beer but definitely worth trying at least once.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle shared by Dionysis @ RBWG. Dark mahogany crimson pour with an eggshell head. This one showed a lot of dark fruit, vanilla, brown sugar, raisin, caramel, candied sugar, yeast, and a bit of molasses tainted by wood. Medium mouthfeel.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours reddish amber with a beige head & it looks like I let some floaties get in there ~ oh well. Nice aroma. There is some oak, rich wine-like traits, dates, raisins, raspberries, peach, figs, earthy Belgian yeast, rich caramel malt, toffee and more. There is a lot going on here and it has lots of complexity. Medium/full body that is incredibly lush and velvety with subdued sharp carbonation. The flavor starts off with lots of oak and the port traits really shine through giving it a rich port-like presence along with a good amount of spice. The malt and La Trappe yeast is definitely there, but it takes a back seat to what the barrels are providing. The fruitiness leans more to the rich and berries side compared to the aroma. The finish almost has a crispness to it with the spice that comes into play. The flavors are so big that I believe it is 10%, but there is not heat at all going on here. Really nice quad and certainly steps up from the original for me & I like the original a lot.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
You can really smell the oak. Almost a wine like quality to the taste and slight alcohol burn. Pretty good. Not as spiced or dark as I would have thought. Serving: Bottle
