Very hazy deep red - brown beer. Decent cream coloured head. Palate is light and soft, semi dry with mild carbonation. Soft dry wood, trace of vanilla. Sweet floral bubblegum. Mild malt cream. Whisper of sweet red berry fruits. Neutral finish. Nicely joined up. These oak aged La Trappes have a unique character.

375mL bottle, pours dark mahogany with a beige head. Aroma of dark dried fruits (figs, raisins, dates), brown sugar, and burnt caramel. Flavour reveals burnt sugar / caramel, dark fruits as mentioned above, with a little burnt malt at the end - maybe a little oak and vanilla, though not much. Pretty much as good as the original Quad.

Taste wood, some kind of liquor, sweetness and slight roastyness. Nice lightly warming alcohol, good carbo, very nice pretty soft mouthfeel, medium to full body.
