4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottled in 2010. Doskonale piwo pachnace calvadosem i armaniakiem. W smaku powidla sliwkowe rum i rodzynki w czekoladzie. Nieco maslanych cukierkow. Alkohol niewyczuwalny, mala piana rubinowo czerwono brazowy kolor. Na koncu metnawy, drobinki fusow jakby byly, przyciemnilo to nieco barwe. Ale wspaniale smakuje rozgrzewa i pozostawia taki jakby rumowy posmak na podniebieniu ktory jest niesamowicie dlugi. Polecam

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 375ml bottle served in a La Trapped chalice glass.
By the way, Batch Number 4 and my review number 400 :).
A: Pours a dark amber clear color forming a small yellow color head. Small retention and some nice lacings left. Beautiful beer
S: Smell is delicious. Whiskey and wood. Caramel. Dark sugar. Caramel malts. Alcohol
T: Follows the nose. Absolutely delicious smell of oak and whiskey followed by candy sugar, caramel malts and bready yeast. In overall a sweet beer with a mild bitter end. Alcohol is evident but not annoying
M: Smooth creamy molasses heavy body. Low carbonation. Delicious bitter aftertaste
O: Excellent beautiful beer! I was not expecting that much...

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch #4) Bottle 375 ml corked and caged, poured into a small tulip. ABV 10%
Dark amber colour on the body, with bits and pieces floating in it. One finger of tan head, with okay retention, leaving light lacing on the glass.
Sweet aroma, with wood, cork, grapes, caramel, vanilla, light alcohol.
Taste has dark ripe fruits, sugars, caramel, wood, light vanilla. I donít get the port aging that much. Slightly boozy but then most of the oak aged batches are.
Medium body, soft carbonation, smooth and mellow on the palate.
A very good batch too.

Bottle at home. Way after deadline, still great. ZDark amber with sediment. Aroma of oak and caramel. Taste of fruits (prune mainly), honey and wood. Great beer. Probably my favorite.

2nd June 2013
Very hazy deep amber beer with a good size pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and a little soft. Semi dry with fine carbonation. Smooth malt with touches of both sweet and spicy wood. Light floral bubblegum. Nice mellow red berry fruits. Joins up very well for a dry finish. Drinks well below itís abv.

0.375l corked bottle from Barley Wine. This is a light cloudy dark brown one with a small lightly lacing beige top. Really vinous and woody on the aroma. Alcohol, tons of candied sugar, sweet dried dark fruits/berries and red wine stock. Really lively and really good on the nose this! Itís right below average on the carbonation and the mouthfeel is surprisingly soft oily - almost on the border of being thin. Due to the relatively high alcohol level, I feel it had deserved a bit more body. Nice barreled-flavors. Itís really candy and fruit-sweet this. Sticky dates and figs with a warming alcohol rush down the throat. Itís not until the end you also notice a soft slightly acidic sourness. Suits it nicely, cause this is quite a sugary sweet one. Canít wait to try the others in the series. 28.01.2013
