Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: No head, just some bubbles. No carbo either... Dark ruby brown ish body... Aromas of prunes, light whiskey, white wood, honey, light vinous... Flavours of prunes, light caramel, dirty malts and dirty wood, some dried leaves, light dry, light bitter, strange and not what I expected. Aftertaste is a mix of light bitter with prunes and wood with a little dirty touch to it... Meh... No carbo, lightly thicker than watery mouthfeel, medium bodied. Aroma is nice, flavour seems to be lost... Tough job to finish this one!

Note: after hoarding the oldest of these beers for over 5 years, I decided to crack down on them, before they disintegrate.
Clear reddish brown beer, almost no head, some big irregular beige bubbles. Aroma: lots of vanilla, bit oxidized, fruity touch. MF: soft to no carbon, medium body. Taste: very oxidized, spicy, some cinnamon, little sweet, some nutmeg. Aftertaste: sweet, caramel, some chocolate, oxidized, bit dusty, banana, bit sugary.

"Vies" bruinkleurig bier, absoluut geen schuimkraag. De witte wijn komt duidelijk naar voren in het aroma. Verder hars, alcohol, hout en in de mond ook duidelijk karamel. Zoet, met ook het licht zure van een witte wijn. Volle body, nauwelijks film aanwezig, geen co2.

Bottle from ABS Drinks, Winksele. Hazy red/brown colour, no head. Almost no carbonation. Sweet nose of vanilla and bourbon. Also fruitiness ( red berries) and vinous notes. Well balanced. Bit alcoholic. Nice beer, aged well!

Bottle share at Leighton’s, thanks to Paul. Four years old at this stage. Murky dirty brown, very little head, no lacing. Aroma is strawberry jam, some harsh chemical / alcohol, touch of sherry, grape juice. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is sherry, sweet toffee, some alcohol coming through, no real bitterness. Doesn’t have the aggressive woodiness that I like in the new vintages, and has gone a bit ’gloopy’ with age. Still, a nice sipper.

Bottle split at Leightons Cloud base, big thanks to Paulo for this ’R’ job, 05/05/15. Opaque mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is rich fruits, cake mix, spice, wood, sherry notes, dates, plums. Taste comprises rich fruit cake, dates, prunes, figs, wooded notes, spice, more sherrified notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, lightly warming alcohol in the close. Decent offering but not top draw.

Bottle shared at Leightons place. Many thanks to Paul. Semi clear orange caramel brown coloured pour with a viscous no head. Aroma is lovely big brandy, toffee, caramel, Cognac, Warming alcohol, Little apple. Flavour is composed of caramel, apple tart, solvent, brandy, little cinnamon, woody. Palate is low carbonation, little sticky, little cloying. Good beer the palate is a bit off.
