Bottle at Fermentoren. Pours a hazy brown with an offwhite head. Smells of caramel, brown sugar, white wine, spices. Tastes of a heavy sweetness, mild tart, some acidity, mild bitter. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, syrupy texture. The initial taste was much stronger on the white wine, esp compared to the dregs of #4 I had just finished. Mouthfeel is still quite white wine.

Dark brown coloured beer with lots of carbonation and a medium off white head. Yeasty banana fruity with some spicy hinted sweet malty aroma’s. Full light creamy tingling palate. Finish is roasted sweet bitter malty and creamy with a longer light yeasty fruity and alcoholic hinted taste. Ending is a very subtile burn of alcohol at the back of the throath. Creamy beer with some very subtile flavours.

On tap at Bier Temple, Amsterdam. Slightly hazy amber beer, small white head. Smooth semi dry palate with mild fine carbonation, Sweetish malt with some dried fruit. Quite a lot of estery bubblegum. Dry woody finish. Not really getting this batch. Unsatisfying. Original rating 2.7.

2nd March 2012.
A bottle this time. Cloudy brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate with nice fine carbonation. Smooth mild caramel with estery bubblegum that isn’t too sweet. Holding it together is a nicely integrated red wine (red wine?) vibe that has Port like cherry and blackcurrant. A little spice and a trace of wood. Semi dry finish. Very nicely integrated.
