It pours a cloudy reddish-brown color with a very minimal head. The aroma is quite sweet and even a little sour, with some hints of apples, grapes and oranges. The nose had a champagne-like character. The flavors are nothing like a good quad should be. This is very sour and way too fruity. There is hardly any sense of big maltiness like a good quad should have. The aftertaste is absoutely horrendious. It’s very sour and bitter at the same time, which for me isn’t a good combination. I took only two or three sips of this and chucked the rest of my 750ml bottle. I don’t know if it’s a bad bottle, but I’m not really willing to buy another one to find out. bonfunck (149), Waasmunster, Belgium

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Damn. I still can’t believe it took over 2 years of being exposed to the world of craft beer for me to try this. I guess it never caught my eye, which I stoked on since I think its a great brew. 750ml bottle listed as Konings Shoeven Quadrupel. Pours a beautiful reddish-brown with clear maroon edges. The pour develops a fat-ass, rocky head that caps off the color nicely. Aroma is typical Belgian Quad, with lots of raisin, plum, candy sugar and sweet dark malts. Flavor leans sweet with prominent notes of cherry, caramel toffee, a bit of apple and a nice slap of banana on the finish. Belgian yeast flavors last on the finish. Very smooth and full-bodied palate. Yummy! BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
