Pours dark coppery with tawny hints, aroma of round malts, toffee, prunes, and dried pears, strong rounded malty flavours of the palate, which seemed to me better when the beer was colder, and faded with time. Very good. SeanMacGC (237), Dublin, Ireland

Full bodied yeast to the nose, and honey, caramel and yeast on the palate, with very reassuring mouthfeel. Well struck balance with the alcohol playing an expertly complementary role. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2008 The beer pours a cooper amber with a fine white head. There are small sediments floating in the beer that is also full of carbonation. The nose is a rich yeasty mix of berries and caramel there is also a clear underpinning of alcohol. The taste is a big mix of alcohol, caramel and yeast. As highly carbonated as the beer looked I was expecting it to have more of a bite but it is a smooth heady alcohol forward brew. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA

Aromas of booze, apples and raisins. Heavy carbonation is immediately noticeable. Flavors of fruit- more from the nose, the apples, raisins... some notes of plums and figs. Plenty of booze heat in the flavor, some heavy malt flavors to balance it, though still on the hot side. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA
