| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 27, 2008 Bottle. A quad to rap your head around. A very smooth talker indeed. High octane and full of life, this quadruple will succeed with age. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Orange color with a small foam. Aroma shows a touch of bubble gum and light fruits. Powerful flavors of raisins, rum soaked dark fruits, honey, doughy, pastry-like malts, with lots of belgian character. Very boozy, but well balaced and fairly complex. Hmm, nice tasting, but the aroma and appearence leave a lot to be desired. This is a fresh batch and not my favorite. The last batch I sold (which I have several bottles aging) was amazing. This is a nice beer, but not a batch I’ll be collecting. EHSRanders (1120), Randers C, Denmark

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 23, 2008 Updated: Aug 29, 2008On tap at Brouwer’s. Dark reddish brown color with a great head typical of a quad. Aroma is nearly identical to Rochefort 10 - sweet grapes, black cherries, port wine and dates, with Belgian yeast. Flavor is also similar to the Rochefort, bringing sweet malts into the aroma’s notes and accentuating the grapes. Absolutely delicious - though it doesn’t have quite the same fullness that the Rochefort has. Still, a wonderful beer, and a testament to the trappist breweries. dalepryor (172), Paducah, Kentucky, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2008 Bottle (in NZ), pours a clear and amber-tinged brown with a large white head. A nutty malt aroma with stone fruit in the alcohol. Full mouthfeel, and quite carbonated, a slightly buttery palate, but the alcohol quickly overcomes this. The malt is slightly nutty for me again, but with an earthiness. Through the finish the fruitier side becomes stronger, stone fruits again with a touch of spice. Allen (1339), Switzerland
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 19, 2008 Bottled 33cl. It pours a beautiful hazy amber-ruby beer with a beige head. The nose is of cherry, banana, coriander, glue, figs and berries. Buttery and malty. Figs, coconut, banana, butter, plums and dates in the taste. Decent lacing. Strongly malty. Lots of alcohol showing up. Grassy finish with coconut appearing.
