Pours dark amber with rich thick tan head. Aroma has hints of berries with a bit of malt. THe flavor is sweet but balanced with the alcohol. Nice aftertaste.

330 mL at room temperature. Pours an orange-amber beers with a white silky foam. Honey aromas, plums and pears... very fruity. Sweet honey and malt flavors at first. Plums, pears and caramel taste follow. Syrupy texture. A great beer that should be sip slowly and with respect.

Had this beer on tap at Tapwerks Ale House in Oklahoma City under the name Koningshoeven Quad. Wow...what a great beer...definitely in my top 5 of Abt/Quads (and Belgiums in general)...quite possibly in the top three. Great pour....deep brown/red with some head......very fruity nose. The initial sweetness could be one of several things...including Belgium candy, caramel or just a raw sugar. Fruit immediately follows...plum, grape, apple, dark berries....its all there. Alcohol is well-covered, particularly for a 10%. A great beer to sip by the fire on a cold autumn/winter night.

The "quadrupel" does not come off as so different from the tripel, but it is an excellent beer. Sweeter than the tripel. Some taste of baked apple (as I heard someone else call it). Strong ale after taste. Nice.

I think this beer is underrated. 750 ml bottle. Poured a clear ruby color with a one inch off white, slightly brown head. One of the sweetest aromas I’ve ever had in a trappist. Smells like preserved fruit or prunes. Taste is sweet and subtle. The sweetness is Madeira, prune juice, and cork. A wonderful beer.

Bottle. The pour is a medium auburn with a lasting, velvety light-tan head. The aroma is intense in apples with grapes, plums, and caramel. As it hits the tongue, green apple bursts. Plum and darker fruits follow. Alcohol is slightly apparent in the flavour. The finish is lightly bitter and just slightly dry but also sweet. This is lighter and milder than I expected in a Quadrupel. The intensity in apple flavours make this quite interesting, though.

Bottle approximately 2 years old. Pours a dark caramel brown, with a huge, billowy, well-retained, cloud-like light tan head. The aroma consists of fresh fruits, dark berries, plums, apples, and sweet Belgian candy sugar. Sweet smelling and inviting. The flavor actually had a bigger dose of alcohol than I expected. Noticeable from start to finish, with a good amount of heat on the way down. The fruits were all there in th flavor. Big berry and plum characters, backed by the Belgian yeastiness in the mouthfeel. Nice carbonation. Noting outside of your typical quad, but this is drinking really nice right now.

Slightly vinous with rich caramel flavors. Very sweet, but with a nice, drier finish.
