Oct 25, 2007 Been Sitting on this since my birthday. 12 oz bottle dated expiration 8/08. Birthday gift from my pal and fellow beer geek bikesandbeer, thanks Kevin, also painstackingly brought over from Europe, even though it is now more available in Cali, the story of the bottle remains important at least it does to me. That said, Pours cloudy copper with a half finger tan head. The nose is really nicely sweet, liquory with a nice kick of yeast. Taste is sweet, a bit syrupy and punchy. Overall a nice quad with a lot more fruit than I recall from the style though I have not had a quad in some time.

Oct 23, 2007 Yum, yum. Yeasty and caramel in the nose. Also the same in the flavor. Alot of dark stone fruits and raisins. Alot of alcohol as well.

The aroma is light in malt and hops but strong in yeast. This is no indication of what your about to taste. Appearance is a beautiful red/amber with a moderate short lasting, good lacing orange head. Flavor? Holy Shnikes! This is the epitome of a barley wine. Sweat, syrupy with a strong alcohol finish. You may need a pilsner or pale ale to chase this. Still, I like its spirt and I could dance to it.....I give it 80 percent.

Sunset orange, thin head. Simple grainy and winey aroma. A good sipping beer - winey, not hugely malty, not hugely hoppy, fairly well-balanced. Didn’t give us much more than the dubbel, unfortunately.

Oct 10, 2007 Had this beer on 5/20/2007. Aroma is a bit sweet with faint hop tones and a whiff of alcohol. Color is a hazy brown with good carbonation and thin tight head. Taste is light, fruity and warming. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth with an almost creamy feel, and a slightly sweet taste coming on. Finish comes out of this sweetness with a fruity yeast flavor and a very faint hop flavor. In the very end is an alcohol feel that leaves you warm. This is a great brew

Oct 9, 2007 amber with a thick off white slightly tan head. caramel, yeast, slightly fruity aroma. More rich in flavor than aroma with full malt and carbonated character up front transitioning to very slightly sweet fruity then quickly to a bitter caramel finish. quite alcoholic at times.
