Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

Chestnut pour. Little head. Very slight malt and bourbon nose. High carbonation. Sweet molasses middle. Subtle bitter finish. Tasty but more malt than I prefer. Best quad ive had!

Bottle. Muddy brown pour with foamy tan head that fades fast. Fresh sweet aroma. Taste is balanced. High ABV is kinda hidden. Sour ending

33cl @ bottle.

Poured from a corked 25.4 oz bottle. A somewhat hazy, amber-orange color with an off-white frothy head. Aroma is sweet and has a definite hint of banana. Taste follows the aroma with a medium sweetness to it. Like other Belgians the carbonation is almost fizzy. Medium body and a long finish that reveals a certain warmth and trace of vanilla. Best as the chill wears off and it nears room temp.

Pours amber with a lasting beige head. Not really intensive, sweet aroma, with hints of banana. Taste is banana, raisins, alcohol. Medium body.

330 mL bottle from SoHo Organic Market, Elizabeth City, NC. Reddish orange pour with a foamy light khaki head. Aroma of Belgian candi sugar, bubble gum, and faint floral hops. Taste offers ripe banana, circus peanut candy (weird, but this is exactly what it tastes like to me), faint chocolate, and booze. Sweetness lingers on the palate somewhat but I think the alcohol helps to lift this from clinging to the tongue. The end result is a very well done and balanced quad.
